«
“Last
winter, during my daily journeys, I saw more and more homeless people
wrapped up in sleeping bags (streets and metro). I realized that
these shapes, these shadows on the pavements had totally lost the
attention from passers-by and had ended up by literally being part of
the landscape. These sleeping bags had turned into street furniture
for people. By re-creating these shapes and slightly moving them from
their initial position, I did wanted to stress on the feeling I had…
and give to these sleeping bags another purpose that their initial
one. I wanted to focus on the shape only. The homeless man or woman
in his/ her sleeping bag then became an abstract shape part of the
urban landscape.”
